ELSA HUMAN RIGHTS MOOT COURT COMPETITION 2019-2020
The School of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in association with the Athens Public International Law Center (Athens PIL), cordially invite you to express your interest for the 8th ELSA Human Rights Moot Court Competition. We are looking for up to four undergraduate and postgraduate students interested in participating in the team.
The ELSA Human Rights Moot Court Competition simulates the procedure of complaints to the European Court of Human Rights and provides students from all Members States of the Council of Europe a unique opportunity to experience the principles and implementation of the European Convention on Human Rights. The competition is based on a fictitious case and each team represents both the applicant(s) and the Respondent State. This year the competition will address the implementation of the European Convention on Human Rights during situations of international armed conflict.
The team will have to prepare the written submissions and then argue the case before a panel of judges. The Regional Rounds will take place in late January to February 2019, and the Final Round will take place in Strasbourg on 5-9 April 2020. For more information on the competition, you can visit the organizer’s website: https://ehrmcc.elsa.org/about/
Students are invited to send their CVs to Professor Maria Gavouneli (mgavoun[at]law.uoa[dot]gr), academic advisor of the competition and Myrto Stavridi (Stavridi.myrto[at]gmail[dot]com). Please mention your grades on all international law courses along with any other activities you deem relevant. You are requested to submit your CV by Monday, 14 October 2019.
